The third generation of the ATtiny Punk Console comes with some new features:
- Reverse polarity protection for the power supply
- new black circuit board design with printed component values
- 3.5mm jack SMD sockets
and an audio bootloader! That means from now on the sound and programming of the synthesizer can be changed within seconds by playing a short audio sequence. The bootloader was developed by Christoph Haberer and Budi Prakosa (https://github.com/ChrisMicro/TinyAudioBoot) and has been integrated into the 8Bit mixtape for several years (https://github.com/8BitMixtape/8Bit-Mixtape-NEO/wiki).
Now the loading of a new program is super easy:
- Set the first/ left potentiometer to middle position
- Connect audio source to the PROG socket (set volume to 80-100%)
- Switch on ATPC and start the dubbing process within the first 5 seconds (while the red LED is flashing)
You're done!
As you can see in the video, the program sequence can be output directly from the Arduino IDE as a sound file (https://github.com/8BitMixtape/8Bit-Mixtape-NEO/wiki/4_3-IDE-integration) or by simply playing .wav files.
